Enman
Cora
Enman,
associate professor of voice, holds a master of music in voice from
Michigan State University, where she has also done advanced graduate
study. Her bachelor of arts is from Whitman College, Walla Walla,
Washington. She has extensive teaching experience, having taught
voice at Whitman College, Michigan State University and Findlay
College before joining Central Michigan University in 1979. She
presently teaches studio voice, class voice, song literature and
diction. A mezzo-soprano, Enman has performed as soloist in
Washington, Ohio and Michigan. She has coached voice with Gean
Greenwell and Robert K. Evans; opera with Boris Goldovsky and Wesley
Balk. A specialist in songs by United States composers, she also
has an abiding interest in new works for voice and premier
performances. Ms. Enman is active in the National Association of
Teachers of Singing. She is actively teaching body mapping for
musicians in a course called “What Every Musician Needs to Know
About the Body”, which is based on the Alexander Technique. The
material helps musicians avoid injury and to gain facility with
their instruments.
