George Hess

George Hess, is professor of music technology at Central Michigan University where he teaches technology, theory and jazz guitar.  He has published papers on the pedagogy of music technology in international and national journals and presents clinics and workshops throughout the country.  Hess is on the IAJE Resource Team and is a member of the advisory board for the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TIME), for which he is also a certified instructor.  An active jazz guitarist, Hess has performed with Ryo Kawasaki, Jim Nabors, Bob Mintzer, The Lawrence Welk All-Stars and is a member of the CMU Faculty Jazz Ensemble.  Dr. Hess holds the doctor of arts and master of music from the University of Northern Colorado and the bachelor of music from the Berklee College of Music, all in theory and composition.  (Not teaching at CMU in 2006-2007.)
