J.
Timothy Caldwell,
professor of voice, has enjoyed an extensive career
as conductor, recitalist, and soloist in oratorios, operettas,
musicals, and opera. His current duties include teaching voice and
serving as musical director for the main-stage musicals. He is an
internationally recognized authority on applying the concepts of
Dalcroze Eurhythmics to improving performance, and is a sought-after
clinician, working with teachers of all instruments as well as
orchestras, chamber musicians, soloists in schools and music
festivals throughout the United States as well as Canada and
Brazil. He has written articles for The American Music Teacher,
Journal of Music Education, Connections-Journal of
Music-and-Movement Based Early Childhood Education, and the
California Music Educators Magazine. His book, Expressive
Singing: Dalcroze Eurhythmics for Voice is published by Prentice
